At the turn of the 19’th Century, the sourdoughs had gold fever! Of course, these hearty souls marched upstream along the Skwentna river pulling boats, or dragging gear, or mushing dogs in search of that most likely spot.
Armed with our gold pans and fishing rods, we take off with the helicopter to explore some likely looking streams and tributaries. Imagining the determination of those early pioneers working their ways up the tributary valleys on foot, we land and begin to pan the gravel beds and sands!
Occasionally we find some color! If you find it, it is yours. Is the mother lode out there? If the panning slows down, we cast a fly to see if the Dolly varden or Rainbow trout will bite.
