Remote Alaska Adventure Lodging
Two Family-Owned, Full-Service Alaska Adventure Lodges
Carl and Kirsten Dixon have been operating rustic luxury lodges in the backcountry of Southcentral Alaska since 1983. Both of our authentic full-service lodges offer award-winning cuisine, professional guide service and accommodations, and all with world-class views of Alaska. We offer an exciting collection of adventure activities such as fishing, hiking, bear and wildlife viewing, fly-in hiking and fishing excursions, and more.
Each backcountry lodge offers something completely different, all within the context of spending time on the path less traveled in Alaska – and, all Within the Wild.
Remote and Peaceful… Along the Iditarod Trail
Nestled in the Alaska Range along Alaska’s historic Iditarod Trail, Winterlake Lodge offers remarkable helicopter-assisted adventures, hiking, fishing, nesting swans and loons, and a wellness program that includes massage and yoga.
WINTER VISITS: The Winterlake Lodge 2014 winter season is from January 20 to April 30. Join us this winter for exhilarating outdoor adventure, cozy lodge comforts, and a hot tub with a view.
A Quiet Cove… Alive with Nature
Tutka Bay Lodge is located in a remote and rugged fjord near the seaside town of Homer, Alaska. Adventures include sea kayaking, fishing for halibut and salmon, and hiking in the surrounding trails of Kachemak Bay State Park. Or just hang out on our deck and watch the tides.
One-Day Culinary Adventures
The unique setting of our cooking school offers inspiration to explore Alaska’s regional products such as halibut, salmon and oysters. Chef Kirsten Dixon and her talented team share secrets for global recipes prepared from a regional perspective. Join us at the school for the day, or as part of your stay at the adjacent Tutka Bay Lodge.
