Most of our guests originate and end in Anchorage, Tutka Bay Lodge’s gateway city.
Drive yourself to Homer (about a five-hour scenic drive), take a commercial airplane flight from Anchorage to Homer (about 50 minutes), or hire a car and driver to bring you down.
If you drive by car: We utilize local water-taxi services to bring you from the Homer boat harbor to the lodge. There is complimentary parking near the water taxi offices on the Homer Spit (there are nice public bathrooms there as well). There is a local car rental agency that rents Anchorage-Homer so you can drive one way and fly back on the return.
If you fly to Homer: We can arrange a pick-up at the airport to the water-taxi via taxi. Save a little extra time in the itinerary to cruise the Homer Spit and pick up a few souvenirs.
Some guests may fly in to the lodge or depart via Redoubt Bay Lodge for a day of bear-viewing or overnight stay. Our air taxi partner will pick up and deliver dock-to-dock.
